Oh, That’s Wonderful

Film made for Light Industry’s “Crossroads: Tribute to Bruce Conner.” Bruce Conner, while not the first artist to work with found film, is probably the most influential found film collagist. His artistry with attention to the sculptural elements of the media as well as his humorous approach to critiquing culture is an obvious influence on my work. I was grateful to have the opportunity to make a film in his honor. I managed to scrape this together with a pile of films down in the basement.

Dissolve

Found footage film constructed of hundreds of dissolves taken from old educational films and reassembled to create a meditation on our own impermanence.

Two

An abandoned and incomplete film performance piece for two film projectors. Edited on film and meant to be screened synchronized on two projectors. Back then I didn’t have the money to make prints so I had to project the originals which were too splice heavy to make it through the projectors. I abandoned the idea and a few years later a friend hooked me up with a free transfer.

Windowfilm

A film performance piece where a single 10-second film loop was edited and added to as it ran through the projector resulting in this 13 minute film.
